Vehicles rented in the US can be driven throughout the US and Canada.

Most places do not allow travel to Mexico. If you intend to travel to Mexico, you must purchase additional insurance to cover the vehicle during your stay in Mexico. Please contact the branch directly for restrictions and availability.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not insurance. Purchase of CDW is optional and not required to rent a vehicle.

You can optionally purchase CDW for an additional fee. If you purchase CDW, we contractually agree to waive your responsibility for all or part of the cost of damage, loss or theft of the vehicle, subject to the actions set out in the Rental Agreement that invalidate CDW. DW does not apply to damage occurring in Mexico.

In deciding whether or not to purchase DW, you should check with your insurance agent or credit card company to determine whether you have coverage or protection for such damage or theft in the event of damage to or theft of the vehicle and the amount of your excess or excess risk.

Purchase of Extended Protection (EP) is optional and not required to rent a vehicle.

This is a summary only and is subject to all provisions, limitations, exceptions and exclusions of the EP Directive. A copy of the policy is available for inspection upon request. EP may provide duplication of coverage already provided under a personal insurance policy or other source. Owner's employees, agents or agents are not qualified to judge the adequacy of Renter's existing coverage.

The optional EP provides you (at no cost to you) with minimum financial responsibility limits as set forth in the applicable motor vehicle financial responsibility laws of the state in which the vehicle is operated AND excess insurance provided by the insurance policy. This provides you and all eligible drivers liability coverage with a combined individual limit per accident equal to the difference between the minimum financial liability limits above and the combined individual limit of $1,000,000 per accident. EP will respond to third party accident claims arising from personal injury, including death, and property damage arising out of the use or operation of the Vehicle as permitted by the Rental Agreement. The policy does not provide coverage for losses resulting from the use or operation of the vehicle in Mexico.

Personal Accident Insurance/Personal Property Protection (PAI/PEC) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily fee. If accepted, the PAI contained in the policy provides Renter and Renter's passengers with Accidental Death, Accidental Medical Expense and Ambulance Expense benefits. The PEC included in the policy insures Renter's personal belongings, additional drivers or immediate family members of Renter who are permanent residents of Renter's household and travel with Renter against the risk of loss or damage. Benefits are payable in addition to any other insurance coverage of Renter or Passengers. This is just a summary. PAI/PEC is subject to the terms, limitations and exclusions of the PAI/PEC policy written by Empire Fire and Marine Insurance Company in the United States or ACE INCInsurance in Canada. Purchasing PAI/PEC is optional and not required to rent a car. Insurance coverage provided by PAI/PEC may duplicate Renter's existing insurance coverage. Alamo is not authorized to evaluate the adequacy of Renter's existing insurance coverage; Therefore, renter should review their personal insurance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate coverage provided by PAI/PEC.

Credit card -A credit card with available funds and in the renter's name must be presented. The signature on the back must match the name printed on the card. In addition, if Renter makes an online transaction, the number and name printed on the card presented by Renter must match the name and number on file for the online transaction. Changes to the pickup and/or drop-off location will require cancellation of the original reservation and re-booking of a new reservation with current prices. If the reservation is canceled more than 24 hours prior to the pickup time, a $5.00 cancellation fee will be charged. If reservation is canceled within 24 hours of pickup or no pickup is made, a $10.00 no-show fee will be charged. Any optional insurance or CDW product selected at the time of reservation can be canceled at the counter at the time of rental without incurring a cancellation fee.

Guaranteed Reservations--A "Guaranteed Reservation" may be required for reservations of specialty vehicles such as minivans, SUVs and convertibles at all corporate locations and participating licensee locations. Vehicles that display the message "This vehicle requires a credit card to create the reservation" during booking are considered a "Guaranteed Reservation." If your trip requires a guaranteed reservation, credit card information will be secured. Cancellations are accepted up to 24 hours before the date and time of the reservation. If a guaranteed reservation is canceled more than 24 hours before the pickup time, no cancellation fee will be charged. If the reservation is canceled within 24 hours of pickup or if the reservation is not used, a $50.00 cancellation fee will apply.

Renter may purchase Roadside Plus (RSP) from Owner for an additional fee. If Renter purchases RSP, Owner agrees, subject to actions voiding Collision Damage Waiver, to contractually waive Renter's responsibility for the cost of providing 24-hour roadside assistance (if available) to replace lost Keys (including remote access devices) included. Roadside assistance (if an inflated spare tire is not available, the vehicle will be towed. Our TollPass program is our electronic toll collection program that allows our renters to drive through electronic toll lanes and pay tolls electronically without having to stop and pay in cash. Additionally, many tollbooths have switched to full electronic toll collection, removing the option for travelers to stop at tollbooths and pay in cash.
